This may all seem confusing because it is......
You should have a 403, and I don't know how different that really is.
I would suggest that you start out following the instructions.
Fill 6 quarts with a filter and 5 without.

Some of us see the top quart go a way real fast (like 500 or fewer miles).
If that is what you see, then wait, there is still room. If the next quart takes 1000~1500 miles to leave, don't bother topping it off.
On the next change, go with 5 quarts.
