If the GMCMH never used EGR, why are we discussing it here? You could massage the timing and mixture for best power and mileage, which usually means lowest emissions. The canister is a win win and should never be bypassed. Engines (powertrains) factory tuned with EGR will have problems if defeated including detonation and trans burn out from soft shift slippage. EGR is out if circuit at idle and heavy throttle anyway. There I go talking about EGR again.
