Every original Royale that I've ever seen has had the same three colored stripe. I'd call it a brown to orange kind of. Regardless of year.

Not to bust anyone's chops, just for the record:

Each year of Coachman products have different colors and stripes. Part of this comes from the color the empty coaches were painted by GM. Transmodes leaving the factory were WHITE in 1975 and 1976, yellow in 1977 and light tan in 1978. (Slight variation at the start and ends of model years but close enough.)

The white Royales (and Birchavens) got a brightly colored yellow/orange/brown stripe. Kind of pretty but, to me, look unfinished.

The yellow (1977) coaches had the GM applied stripes on front (a lot like the 73/74 GM products) and Coachman applied stripes in the rear. While they looked matching when new, they were different materials and did not age the same.

The tan coaches (1978) got the three color stripes they seem to be talking about here. As they made a TON of Royales in 1978, it may be why many think all Royales look like this from Coachman.

A note on 1978 Coachman stripes: If the vinyl is in good shape, but the color is faded, they can be turned bright white by wiping with acetone. While white stripes do not stand out, they could look better than faded and is MUCH easier to do than stripe removal. Also easier on the paint.
