Les,
We recently purchased an Electrolux Ergorapido in Australia for quick pickup jobs. I was going to buy a Dyson hand held but they are
over $400 and that was as much as the Miele vacuum.
At any rate it is available in the USA:
http://www.electroluxappliances.com/Homecare/Vacuum-Cleaners/Lightweight-Vacuum-Cleaners/EL1030A.aspx
The reason we like it is because it has a rotating brush in the floor head that works well on carpet and floors. The "head" comes
out and works well.
Obviously the down side is it's size.
In the GMC over here we have a Shark hand held also with a rotating brush in the head. I did a Google search but I can't seem to
find it. It may not be made any more.
Regards,
Rob M.

Not to be a showoff, I do not have one. I will pay a reasonable price for a product that really works. We have several here, old
Sears shop vac, two Dysons (one is good in the house, not so good in the compact, irregular space as the van) and a dirt devil, that
did a very good job on the flat floor of the van.
