I use a 1 gallon shop vac with a detailing attactment that can be bought at Walmart. The great thing about it is that it uses the same size hose as my 12 gallon shop vac. We use the 12 gallon shop vac as our whole house vacuum with a traditional floor attachment from a Kenmore canister vac we bought at Sears.

Why do we use the shop vac you ask...... because we have hardwood floors, 5 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 bird cages.

The Kenmore vacuum couldn't keep up. We bought an extra attachment to use on the 1 gallon shop vac for our travel trailer and the coach. Smaller size, same suction power.

The detailing attachment is shop vac brand, think Tina paid 12 bucks for it. Comes with a reducer nozzle and a bunch of smaller brushed and crevice attachments.
