In dealing with a failed governor gear it appears it would be really handy to have a spare governor gear assembly on board. And it seems like they might be in short supply. We are planning a trip to several junk yards and will search for governor gear assemblies.

The question is will any assembly off any Toronado 425 transmission work or could it be rebuilt to work. What should we look for? And are there any other transmissions that we could look for that would have a rebuildable governor gear assembly core that would work on our GMCs. We're thinking to get the assembly including the cover. Anything else we should try to recover in the process?

Mickey, Eldorado 67 to 78 governors will fit or trannys too. When ever I see one I grab it. Like two in the last 10 years.
Good hunting!
