Well, yesterday was another adventure. First the good news. Dwayne Jacobson
and Sharon shook off their bonds that the Mechanic in Kennewick, Wa had
them sequestered with, at long last and drove their coach to LaGrande, Or.
After convincing a very stubborn mechanic to at least change out the
transmission governor to see (which we all know to be true) if the missing
gears come back (they did much to the mechanics suprise) Dwayne and Sharon
got under way on an intercept course to meet the rest of us somewhere along
the route 66 near Santa Fe, NM. Now, for the not so good news. Deb and John
Harper's quadrajet carb finally became so troublesome and frustrating to
the group of Route 66 travelers, that we (mostly Deb) called for the
"dreaded HOOK" and were towed to Oklahoma City last night where the crack
Camping World technical mechanical staff will jump right on the problem,
work their miracles and prepare them to once again join the Route 66
Rolling Rally. Some of our group are heading to Amarillo and Santa Fe to
see about a medical issue with one of the group. We hope to all join up
again there.
Jim Hupy Rolling Rally at Water's Edge RV and Cabin Resort in Vinita, Ok. A
spectacular park right on the waters edge at Grand Lake 'O the Cherokees.
P.S. Three cheers for Randy and Margie VanWinkle, as well as the
Flatlanders GMC group. In particular, Linda and Al VanWinkle, Joan and Max
Kanel, T.J. Dugan and Larry Nelson. What a great bunch of welcoming and
friendly people. There may have been more of you working so hard to feed us
and make us feel welcome. If there were, thank you as well. We were busy
most of the time doing coach maintence so might have missed someone.
