Rob,
I think that Matt is trying to feel out the overall GMC club communities to see what the interests are. I was a member of GMCES when we were looking for new leaders and ideas. I let my membership ease out because it was the same thing as the other clubs and didn't offer anything different or new for my money and time. It has become a club with rallies in the Mid-West and since I live in Florida now is too far away. ....so I support the Dixielanders and also the Sunshine Statesman(and Tidewater Crabs because that was my first GMC Club).

Jim and Rob,

As the Chapter is currently foundering pretty much for a lack of participation, I am looking for an niche to fill to save it. We seen to have burned out the presenters and topics available and very new few are surfacing. That really means that the overall organization is filling the need very well. That is not all bad, but no help to us.

An opening exists in there are still a very large number of owners for whom GMCMI severs no real purpose other than access to old and often incomplete presentation slide shows.

And, as we have a number of younger owners in the east of the Mississippi region, I would really like to find out what they would like the Chapter to be. It may be that this offends some of the older and even charter members that think we should remain a purely technical venue, but, things change. This chapter was a change.

If we are become virtual (meaning web-based) technical chapter with several presentations a year, I could live with that, but there are also a number of owners that cannot make most of the rallies the the largest local chapter runs as they are pretty specifically only for a few retired people that can make that schedule work. This is damaging to the binding camaraderie that binds such an organization together for the long haul.

If we can provide both a technical forum to keep them running and a social wing for this younger crowd, that could be the value that keeps the chapter viable.

The whole reason for the question 4 (do you have open access) was that research I have done shows that many RV owners do not. This greatly inhibits their capability to make fast get-aways for short excursions. So far in the responses, this is not an issue, but the number of returns form younger members is light.

Matt - Hoping for more returns with renewals and loss more renewals.
