Speaking of batteries and chargers, I filled my house and motor batteries
last February; coach has been up on blocks and plugged in since. Just
checked the fluids again, took over a gallon of water just for the house
batteries (2 six volt golf cart). I am running a Truecharge 40 charger.
which I installed new in 2000. I have a new PD9260 (or something like
that) that I will swap with the Truecharge unit later this year. Why would
all that water disappear??

The simple answer is the batteries were over charged and boiled an excessive amount of the electrolyte away. Get rid of that Truecharge or do not leave it plugged it in when the coach is not in use.
