I have had a Statpower TrueCharge 40+ since 1998 and have never had any issues with the unit. I just check my batteries today after not being checked for at least 8 months and the water level was only down about 3/8 of an inch. I used to service the batteries about every 5 or 6 months, but over the years have found that once a year works for me. I got 8 years out of my first set of batteries and changed them only because they started to show weakness and I was planning on some dry camping.

>> Speaking of batteries and chargers, I filled my house and motor batteries last February; coach has been up on blocks and plugged in since. Just checked the fluids again, took over a gallon of water just for the house batteries (2 six volt golf cart). I am running a Truecharge 40 charger which I installed new in 2000. I have a new PD9260 (or something like that) that I will swap with the Truecharge unit later this year. Why would all that water disappear??
> That 13 year old charger boiled it out. You want to swap to the PD9260 sooner rather than later. Like now.
