Like Dennis says: ALL "non-GM upfitted" coaches have the VIN as a transmode. This includes Royale, Birchaven, Avion, Landau, Roll-A-Long, Roll-A-Long, Hughes and a few others. NOTE that this includes _ALL_ 23 foot coaches built after 1974.

Nice coach, even with the "rather busy" paint scheme. (Too much on the stripes for my taste anyway. But I am not buying it!)

While it is the rather desirable "center kitchen Royale, the layout is NOT that "typical." It was only produced in 1978. IIRC there really were not that many made, even if it seems that I see them quite often.

_IF_ I wanted a 26 foot coach, I would be looking for this layout. But we are happy with our shorter Bichaven... also a transmode.

Congratulations! Great looking coach.

FYI, transmode means GM did not finish the interior -- so all Coachmen products, ie, Royale, left the GM factory as transmodes.

The only real mystery at this point is "what is she?". The VIN (and tag - see the bottom photo) say it's a Transmode, while all the other evidence points to a Royale. I guess I don't care too much either way, but it sure looks (smells, feels) like a Royale, with nice walnut cabinets and the typical center kitchen, dry bath layout.
