Bryan,

I'm guessing you have the round tank later style water heater and not the early type in a metal box?



If its the round style mounted on a frame, take your new tank to your local Heating and A/C contractor and ask if they have any left over pieces of the round insulated duct hosing they use.

They should have a size that will fit over the tank just perfectly depending on the style, you may need to remove an inner hose.
