Cameron,

I've done it all 3 ways: Out the top (actually through the door with a
long-armed engine hoist on my 23'); out the front, pulling the whole frame
clip; and, out the bottom, dropping the engine + transmission + final drive
together.

My preferred method is out the bottom all together, but I have a service
rack which makes that method much easier than if you have to jack (and
secure) the coach to achieve 30" under the main cross member.

If you also plan to do front end work, replace brake lines, etc., then
pulling the front clip would probably be best.
