After removing the nut raise the wiper up as far as you can get to 90 degrees then rock the long part with the blade(now pointing in your face) vertically up and down while pulling up on the backside of arm(opposite side of arm). Try not to fly off backward when it let's go(check your landing zone)

I have been trying to remove the complete windshield wiper arm, I have taken
the nut off and expected to just pull it straight up, that was not the case,
I have pried with a wonder bar and twisted to no avail, is there a secret
and am I missing something?
Would appreciate any advice before I break something off.
