There is not much you will miss up that route other than there are no tolls other that one at Rockford. I do not think you will miss not having to pay tolls. Watch the speed limits closely for RV's and Trucks. They love to write tickets to out of state RV's and trucks.
My wife was assisting the Bloomington IBM office one day when the Manager called her in and tried to get both her and I to take a transfer there. Laurie refused the jobs for both of us. When asked what we had where we lived compared to Bloomington, Laurie responded "TREES".
That same manager hired both of us a few years later in Indianapolis for an 11 state mobility project.
There will be lots of corn on your route and a large wind farm north of I-80.
