Matt,

Glad you mentioned this. I couldn't figure out why the nut wouldn't fit over
a copper tube I shortened to install a shutoff valve in my water supply line
until I took the line out and could see how it had swelled up from freezing!

flare fitting, but it isn't pipe size either.
