What if for the drinking water you installed a system like this:

Then you would only need distilled water for the guitar room which I would
assume would be much less.

BTW I understand the requirement for distilled water for the humidifier as I
have a LARGE (4' high 3' wide 1' deep) cigar humidor that needs the same
thing.

We have a reverse osmosis system that provides drinking water and water for
the humidifier in my "guitar room". I would like to find a system that
doesn't waste so much water though. We use the waste for irrigating trees
and shrubs but I'd rather keep it in the system.
