If I were to need a continuious duty compressor I would spend the extra bucks for the Vlair unit. My air system is now pretty tight. On the trip last weekend 90 miles each way the compressor only come on once for about 30 seconds. Probably due to a consistant cross wind from the south as I was going east. I run with the system in the auto position to let the leveling valves do their job. Yes the compressor does get quite warm after about 2 min run time. At the camp site I ran it about 3 min to level the coach but I opened the door to the cabinet where it is located while doing so. With the backup to get me home in case of a failure I am sastified with the system. I looked for a reasonable priced US made compressor but could not find anything I was willing to pony up for. Most like the Vlair were more or less continuious duty and I felt were overkill. Of course this one is only 2 months old so time will tell. I may have to eat my words so to speak but if I do I will be sure to let everyone know.

Mark,

Normally I am a proponent of Harbor Freight tools; however, in this case I
am a bit leery. I just read the reviews and agree with the ones that note it
gets hot fast.

"We" discussed this pump awhile back and IIRC the general consensus was that
"we" needed to install one and monitor its performance. Looks like you're
elected!

I do carry one of these in Double Trouble to inflate the tires and in case
the Viair 480C dies.

I mounted the Harbor Freight number 66399 where my old dana was in the
cabinet with the air valves. It is only 1.35 cfm but will raise the coach
to ride hight from 0 psi in a couple min. it is 12v and only 59.99. I do
keep a small backup in case that one bites the dust. No problem in the
couple months since i put it in.
