I truly understand the sentiment, but I do have a bit of a different view. If you have good performance specs and you hold the supplier accountable, my experience has been that China or India or any off shore supplier will give you good parts. We have become lazy with regard to specifying what we want. The American supply chain more or less has spoiled us in that they know what we expect. This is not true of many oversees suppliers, but frankly that is more "our" fault than the supplier. GM builds upscale Cadillac STS stretched cars in China and Russia that far eclipse the quality of units built locally--it's all about specifications.
