Harry, you're right, though I have been to a few military MWR campgrounds where the sites were thought up by someone who knew nothing of RVs. I was surprised a few months ago when the MWR supervisor on the base that I used to work at, asked me and a few others who had motorhomes and trailers if we could bring them on the center. They are building some RV sites and wanted to get an idea of where to put the electrical/water hookups. They will start with a dump station because of cost but even looked at where sewer outlets would be needed in the future.
The inlets and outlets locations seem to be done to an industry
standard. While the internal tank and panel locations are "where ever they will fit and work".
