It is going on 18 years old and probably need the tubes reamed out due to calcium deposits but we can't shut it down for any repair right now.

The little bit I know about boilers, they are, more or less, a closed system. Once the water has gone through the heating cycle, it is more or less, Clean. The minerals are limited and unless you have had leaks, you have had little water entry into the closed system.

Might look at your burners.

I notice there are some nice instant heat boilers now, very small, compact and pack a lot of heat... Not to say you need one but just a mention for information....

That is what we heat the shop with at the airport with. Is is an in the concrete floor water circulation system and a small tankless water heater is all we use to run it. I was out there this morning while is was still below zero and the heater was just cycling occasionally. By the time I got there someone else stopped by with a snow blower and cleaned around my hanger so I do not have to haul my tractor out there. It looks like the drift they moved was almost 30". On the way out there all of the roads were clean and the state highways were dry. Heck I noticed that they even plowed the roads in the cemetery. All day I did not see a single snow plow anywhere. All of them, including the airport, were done for this storm and gone home. There are BIG piles of snow everywhere.

I talked to Blaine this evening and he has 3" of ice covered by snow. The county has all of the roads shut down until further notice. I figure it will be around April 1st when it finally thaws.
