Robert Mueller wrote on Sun, 02 January 2011 14:16 | G'day,
A high school buddy of mine's Dad owned an XKE. Larry and I would "borrow"
it when his Dad was out of town (figure out why?) and "cruise chicks." It
worked a treat! Wouldn't have to ask them twice if they wanted to go for a
ride!

The first time I saw one in the flesh was in Ft. Lauderdale FL when they were fairly new. We, entire family, were down there to visit my grandparents over Christmas break. Some other families from my hometown with kids my age were also in town. Fl was having some very warm weather. I got to take our '62 Ford wagon and pick up the other kids and go to the beach. Just after we parked an XKE conv pulled in parked next to us. Out climbs a very gorgeous blond in a, for that era, very skimpy two piece suit. (not quite bikini, after all this was '62 and at a public beach.) At that time she was an "older woman", maybe 25 max. (my how age can change opinions.)
Was doubly in lust, car and gal. Not sure which one was at the top of the lust list.
Someday, if the right thread comes up, I may also discuss my first Corvette experience.
