One would have to call this a successful event.

I was kind of hoping that Craig would get here first with the numbers, because I don't the complete count. I remember there are being about ten coaches and two owners that arrived without coaches.

We had a great time with discussions and such until some of the crowd started to complain that this was supposed to be a lunch and not a dinner meeting. We trooped in the Golden Coral that was the impromptu host, but returned to the lot promptly after eating for more discussions, stories and diagnostics. A goodly portion of the time was spent admiring the Shotwell's new paint job - Topeka Graphics deserves their reputation - come see this one at DuQuoin.

Of those that attended only a few (3 or4) will be at DuQuoin.

The weather was as good as one could hope for. The venue was great - easy to find and adequate maneuvering room. The cost was a real grabber.

Lunch was at the Golden Corral and was what you might expect from them.

We have got to do this more often.
Thanks Craig

Matt

Matt, Craig & Tri-State Area,

So glad to hear y'all had a successful event.  Knew you'd love it.  These lunch
bunches are kinda' like Lay's potato chips...nobody can have just one.  :)

I'm still full! And I didn't even have dessert!
I'm sorry we had to run off, just the curse of retail employment.
It was nice to put names and faces together, and to have other coaches to
look at.
Now I know why my window seems like it is in upside down... because it is!
(Drivers side, early style opens at the front; Pass. side, second design
upside down so it opens at the front.)
I'd like to do this again...

We enjoyed it thoroughly and look forward to doing it again sometime. It
was great to meet other GMC'ers and see other coaches. Much fun.

Sally and I also enjoyed the mini rally, having just bought our 1st GMC last
week
it was enlightening to look at the 10 GMC's in attendance, we learned a lot.
Thanks for welcoming us,

Yes, it is, Bob - thanks again for the inspiration!

And we had a great time yesterday in Michigan. Got to meet some very nice people and see some old friends. This should be an on-going meet.

And thanks to Matt for the kind words on the paint job!

It was good to meet everyone and check out their GMC's. I've had mine a little more than a year and put over 5,000 miles on it but this was the first time it was with other GMC's and their owners.

At 10,480#'s it's by far my heaviest Hot Rod and I've got quite a few Hot Rods. http://www.krusebrotherscarclub.com/mikescars.html

Those are wheel covers held on to the stock wheels by 2 small allen screws. From the infomation I got with the GMC, they are "Safe Guard Wheel Covers" out of Cincinnati and were apparently developed years ago by Stan Grueninger owner of a GMC dealership in Cincinnati. Not sure if they are still available.

I think I still have 5 of those SS wheel covers held on with allen screws.
Anybody want them? Pay the shipping & throw in $50.00 for the covers and
they are yours. Might trade for ???

I may still have 2-3 to complete the set. Let me know if I should hunt them
up and bring to Du Quoin.

Mine are 16.5, but they mount onto the flange where the lug nuts are and
might work on 16's as well. I'll Check as I have 16" steel wheels on my
coach now.

Sorry I missed this one. I have a good excuse though....Since I was rained out for half of Saturday I had to use Sunday to continue working on my coach prepping it for paint.

Hope to see you all at the next one.
