Under the right side of the carb is a plate held down with two bolts. I guess it had to do with the choke?

I did not block the crossover but went with all stock setup and turkey tray.

What is the recommended gasket to seal that plate?

I think the pitting may cause a gap. I have an extra REMFLEX gasket, i may use a piece of that. Any thoughts?

thanks

Dave

Under the right side of the carb is a plate held down with two bolts.

I had to remove it to torque the intake and discovered rust and pitting where it joins the intake.

It is open to the exhaust crossover, correct?

I did not block the crossover but went with all stock setup and turkey tray.

What is this plate for? Or rather, what was the original opening for?

What is the recomended gasket?

Sir: If it was a GMC I would use this and maybe some furnace cement for insurance.

Sir: This is what went there. Exhaust Heated choke tube.

and one each of these

but since you have the Caddy electric choke you don`t need it.

Thanks. Knowing what was supposed to be there makes it pretty easy to figure out how to seal it.
