Rob,
Right - what you said. Er... As far as I know there are no wheels that looks
just like Alcoa's, but with 2 inches less offset. And I've never seen dually
wheels styled like the GMC 2500's, but I admit I haven't looked. There are some
old (maybe 70's or early 80's??) Ford pickups with aluminum disk wheels with
holes. They are sort of the same style, and on the same vehicle might even look
like they were intended to go together. Any of the "new" Fords from sometime in
the 90's on have metric bolt patterns and won't fit. So I gave up getting
wheels that were a styling match and picked the GM wheels because of the cool
looking hubcaps and the conservative hole pattern. Dodge wheels also fit, I'm
told, but non have a simple pattern - they all have swirls and such. I found a
set of Chevy wheels, but they have a bow tie on the hubcap. Now I need to see
if I can buy a couple of GMC center pieces. For the spare I think either offset
could work, but I would probably stick with the high-offset wheel - after all
there are 4 wheels like that. Would I worry about putting two different offsets
on the front in case of a flat? Nope. Would probably get some torque steer and
a pull on braking, but to get to town I think I could live with it.
Using the GMC 2500 wheels probably isn't ideal. If I had 6 Alcoa's I would
probably just run them as is, or get spacers for the front. But I had a partial
set of Alcoa's and figured these wheels were relatively cheap and provided the
wider track and 16-inch rims besides. Compromise.

Sorry I was not clear in my email.
As I understand it to get a matching set of six wheels you need two wheels
for the front with an offset 2" less than the Alcoa's and four for the rear
with the same offset as the Alcoa's.
If this is correct are these wheels available with the same offset as the
Alcoa's as well as the offset 2" less? Does anyone know of any aluminum
wheels like that meet this criteria?
As far as the spare goes I would carry a wheel with the same offset as an
OEM wheel.

They are obviously not an exact match, but are basically the same style.
I used the Dodge wheels because I specifically wanted 8" wide rims so I could use the 255/70R16 tires. see:

I'm hoping I can modify the Dodge center caps with GMC logos in the center at some point.

I forgot to mention, in the earlier post, that I looked at those same Chevy/GMC 2500 rims too. I really like the look of them and actually prefer them to the Dodge wheels aesthetically. The only reason I went with the Dodge wheels was the 8" width. The 16 X 6' Chevy wheels would work great with the 225 size tires

This is from an earlier posting on this subject:
The biggest difference is that the lug nuts are specials - they
have to be conical with threads on the outside to hold the hubcaps and with 9/16
- 18 internal threads. GM used M14-1.5 threads on most all of the later model.
I was able to get the right lug nuts from NAPA, but they were over $3.50 each.
Ouch. The cool thing is that if you can find some from a GMC 2500 they will
have the GMC logo on the hubcap. All I could find is ones with the bow tie. I
think I can go to a GM dealer and get the insert with the GMC logo and that
would be cool.
If you can find the above mentioned lug nuts, you could probably use GMC center caps with the Dodge wheels. The Dodge center caps also use a special conical lug nut but it is made for the hub cap to clip onto instead of having external threads for the hub cap to screw onto. If Gary found them, that means they are available. Maybe he will have a Dorman part number?????

EBay is your friend. They have nuts and caps. Search for 9/16 dual thread
lug nuts. $39 including shipping for 32.
