got a really nice Q-jet off a 77 cad I think thisis one of the altitude adjusting ones? and anyone confirm this?

Larry,
Thanks for the link! the arb is not the original unit of that im fairly sure, it simply looks too new, probably was remanufactured sometime not long ago. I will take a closer look at it, but it looked like a nice unit and for $30 bux I couldn't just leave it there at the mens mall. I would almost consider trying to use this carb myself but I got my Holley so well dialed in I figure why bother at this point....

Duce,
The Altitude compensating carb came on the 75's only...not in the 77's. May look like it has it, but doesn't have it. It's still a good carb but not Alt Comp. See these pics and the next several after that for difference.
