In my capacity as "Wagon Master" for the GMC Saguaro Jetset, I have the task of finding a good location for a rally in the middle of February. We are trying to time the rally so that we can take advantage of the Renaissance Fair, as an activity, and would like to find an RV park in the East Valley, somewhere near the location of the fair. So far, We aren't having much luck finding a place that is willing to make a commitment to our group. We would expect up to 20 coaches, and this is the busiest season for snowbirds.

If any of you Phoenix area guys (Bob DeK, Chri$, Randy V, Rob A ???) could help with a recommendation, I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Carl: This is a long shot, but the park I stay in MIGHT have spaces available for you. Skyline Resort, 5295 East Skyline Drive, San Tan Valley AZ.

Contact Jody, the park manager at 480 987-5476 and ask. Tell her Rob Allen sent you her information. She might be able to double up some sites, not at all sure about that though.

Carl,
My MS Streets and Trips shows 44 parks in that area. Do you have
this program? I don't travel without it.

Thank you Rob and Steve!

Rob, We'll look into the park in San Tan Valley. That is within our distance range.

Steve, We did some research on ""Streets and Trips" and found some interesting prospects, and thanks for the phone call.

Ed, thanks for the e-mail. Florence would work too.

We'll get something figured out, even if we have to dry camp in the desert for the weekend.

I know it's no where near the Renaissance Fair, but LoLoMai Springs between Cottonwood and Sedona is beautiful and would make a great location for a spring rally.

I have been tossing around an idea for a rally that was geared towards young families where the kids could run around and put games together while the menfolk discussed ragwall tires and the best oils to use and the moms tried to outdo each other with macaroni saled recepies (none of which contained ZDDP).

Do you suppose there are enough owners out there with school age children to put together a decent rally?

Randy,

That looks like a great place to hold a rally. The GMCSJ has been talking about having a rally in the Cottonwood area at some point. In fact it might bean option for March of 2011. Most of the jet-setters are older (mid forties on up), but there is no age limit and we have one younger member family with a 5 - 6 year old daughter. You and your family would be more than welcome at any of our rallies as guests. They are usually held at RV parks where there are lots of other people with kids around. A great one for you to try out would be either the Thanksgiving Rally in November (Benson, AZ.) Hosted by Steve and Nancy Ferguson or the Christmas Rally in December (Amado AZ.) hosted be Kevin and Barb Webb. Both are at full service parks with great facilities.

Thanks for the recommendation.
