Yank on the E brake and put it in gear and off we go!

In the 1st place it definitely is not an emergency brake and in my
opinion not the best parking brake GM could have used. It looks like
something they grabbed from the leftover bus parts bin.

I removed mine altogether and used wheel chocks as a back up to the
tranny park feature. Of course the only slopes in South Florida are
bridge approaches where one isn't allowed to park anyway. (Fortunately,
Florida doesn't inspect RVs)
