Duh, I always wanted to work on one of these but can't find the starter on
my 77 X-PB with the 403 engine. Have solenoid click but no cranking.
Suggestions and/or pictures would be appreciated.

The starter is located low on the passenger side right where the transmission bolts to the engine. Many times a clicking can be due to a low battery or a poor wiring connection rather than the starter.

If you can hack it, I would recommend doing this to the starter wiring

Bob;
What is the cold cranking power of your battery ?
How old is your battery and cables ?
Do you always use your Battery Boost when starting ?

Bob Brooks you gotta be pulling someone's leg. I am totally and
unashamedly mechanically inept
but I can find the starter in most every car (my CTS excepted) It is
usually on one side or the other,
toward the rear where the big round toothed gear is (ring gear?) LOL!
Follow the clicks,
the solenoid usually sits on top of the starter.

As long as I have your attention I'd like to get the Build Date for your
PB. I'll write directly.
