Does anyone have a recommended method for installing the bearing/ pulley on to the ac compressor extension/ snout? The MM shows a special tool -- I used a large socket so as to contact the inner race only but the socket wall was too thick and contacted the snout leaving about 1/8 inch still needed to press on.

Thanks,
Dennis

That is one of the references I am using -- but I am having trouble getting the bearing/pulley assembly installed back on the compressor. It is the original bearing but I can only press it on so far -- I need some type of drift which has a surface to match the inner bearing race.

Dennis,

I have a set of bearing setting dies that starts at 5/16 an goes to 1 3/8 -
it incldes 3 different size drifts. I think it covers about 25 sizes within
the above range. SAE not metric.

Tom,
Would be great if you have one that matches. Let me know a convenient time to trial fit.

Thanks!

Dennis,

I have an install at the airport 9AM tomorrow morning. I'll bring the kit
with me. From there I am heading to Poplar & Yates.

I'm not sure if you have the clearance, you'll have to try it.
