Reading about the water cooling I began to think about can all the air from the front be forced thru the radiator. This would reduce the pressure behind the radiator. This would not fix the climbing of hills or high load heating problems that the water spray across the radiator is meant to fix.

I have thought about ram air through the bottom of the radiator. I tried running without the fender liners but when I drove in heavy rain I had ignition problems so I put the fender liners back on.

We have been working on a radiator baffle kit that will address the lower
and the top portion of the radiator.
This should kick in after 35-40 mph to funnel and to force air through the
radiator and condenser.
The first kit will address the 73-76 by influencing the flow through the top
half as well as the bottom.
The second kit will address 77-78 by stimulating flow through the bottom and
some around the top half.
There will be some benefit to creating more flow of air through the
ventilation system as well.
You will notice less fan noise as the fan clutch will not need to come on
frequently.
I have few people gathering data so we can come up with a better design.

I am an advocate of a horizontal baffle between the frame rails in
front of the radiator. It would keep the air coming up from under the
front bumper from disturbing the air coming thru the grill. In other
words keep all the air going straight into the radiator. Just a
thought that I have no way of proving. At least it didn't change my
top speed or gas milage.<G>................Terry

Terry,
Your correct in keeping the lower seperated from the top.
The 77-78 did that somwhat effectivly, but left some undone, but I need to
see why.
