There is one other Birchaven floor plan that switches sides of the
dinette & couch that doesn't show up in brochures. This one appears a
dinette was replaced by the second couch with non matching material. To
me the more interesting thing is the large gap in builds. This could be
answered if the Coachmen build stickers are still on the interior, the
build dates would then be known.

This one has a 'build' date as a Transmode of Dec 5, 1975.
Belongs (ed) to Norman Treude of Kerrville, TX.

A little off the track here but if we had discovered Kerrville, I
think chances are good that we'd be living there instead of Sierra
Vista. The only place we've found so far that we like better.

The build date that will address the mysterious date gap is from the Coachmen interior tags (paper tag glued on cabinet door)that identify Coachmens build date, anyone have that?

Maybe this GMC was a prototype floorplan that Coachman was working on for 76' and was sitting around at the plant for a while. They may have finished it too late in the season to sell it as a 1976 model especially if the 77's were already rolling down the line. They just striped it as a 1977 and sold it as such. That would explain the large gap in production dates.

It would interesting to know if anyone has seen another Birchaven with this floor plan design or if this is a one of a kind layout?
