Hi,
I have a 75 Eleganza II with a 4K Onan generator. The cable that goes to the bottom post of the Onan solenoid from the positive pole of the battery seems to have rotted (?) off. My macerator was attached to the positive battery post and this lead.
I'm confused as to the connections. This seems to go to the bottom post of the solenoid, and another wire goes to a top post. These wires are maybe 8-10 gauge stranded wire; all seem to be in bad shape.
Does someone have a diagram for this?
I understand that some people don't use--have ignored/disconnected this solenoid. What is it for ? It has a lot of hard to reach posts with little wires attached to it.

The solenoid is used to bypass the 50 amp circuit breaker so the boost cable can take the full current from front to back. If you remove it, you will limit the boost current to 50 amps. The original design is good, I would leave it in place.

Thanks Gene,
I called Cinnabar today to try to buy this very manual. They said they were out of stock; didn't know when they would have some more; and to call back in a couple of months!

The manuals are available on CD from from Tom Linds. The ones at Cinnabar are photocopies on paper of the original manual.
