For better of for worse I now own a '73 GMC S/N 1ZE06 3V102 442. Does anyone know what type this is? Any info on previous owners etc. It has a rear bed (conversion?) center kitchen on drivers side and wet bath on passenger side at the back before bedroom. One single and double bed in dining area.
Thanks

Your leading 1 is actually a T.

T = manufactured by GMC
Z = series
E = engine type V8 - gasoline
06 I don't recognize the 06. I thought that GMC used 16 for a model ZEO6581 26' motorhome
3 = year produced (1973)
V = assembly plant Pontiac, MI
102442 = serial number

Yes - the 06 is for a 26 foot, and an 03 would therefore be for a 23' coach.

William,

Welcome to the brotherhood/cult/asylum (your choice).

Other than model year and length there is little that can be determined by the serial number. You will note that we speak of Painted Desert, Eleganza and Kingsly and such, those are trim packages that are largely determine the original color scheme. The is a good chance that the TZE is in Dave's file and he will be able to give a history of your coach. Is the build list still on the glove compartment door?

I actually know where Manasquan is. I have family in Mantoloking and so spent much of many summers on Barnegat Bay. My college roommate still lives in Ocean.

Be sure you get the set of manuals on DVD because there are differences in a '73 that are covered only in the X7425 manual.

If you enter the raffle for the brake reaction arm kit, remember that the coach will have to have a parking brake to pass NJ vehicle inspection.

And as I am a waterman by trade and tradition, I offer a paraphrase of the greeting to a new owner or vessel in the fleet.

May the Good Lord Bless this coach and all those that set forth within.

Welcome

Matt

The "0" or "1" in that slot are for GMC interiors. Just depends on year. ("0" for 73/74 and "1" for "newer.")
