Last week when traveling in high heat and humidity and my engine running
about 195*+ most of the time I burst a hot water line at the water heater.
The top one as it exited the heater.
I did an on-the-road patch, but for the rest of the trip when running, we
left the water pump off and the hot water tap On.. to avoid pressure build
up.
Sooooo, had this happened to anyone else.???
Thanks

Wasn't the engine heater hose, was the hot water supply hose to the kitchen
faucet I believe. I think that is what I read, anyhow.

the sink and the overpressure caused the kitchen faucet to run hot water
over them while underway.)

Hi Jim
The way I read it is Mike (Kimosabi) is talking about a heater hose from the engine cooling system that circulates through a coil on the hot water heater and heats the house water when goin down the road. I've gotta be careful here since Kimosabi does not a big fan of people who drove Brown Trucks (inside joke) but I think that is what he meant.

Retired Big Brown Truck Drivers have a very sharp eye, and had he been in
one of my classes, he would have gotten full credit for finding the awkward
sentence that confuses the reader.
When I wrote, " I burst a hot water line at the water heater." Dick read it
right but James knew what I ment....now figure that out <VBG>
The 'house' hot water hose broke from built up pressure....is that something
unheard of? To keep the pressure from building, I left the hot water faucet
on but the water pump off, Dan, to avoid wasting water.....

Sir: Jim Galbavy has an issue with too hot watet at the facet after driving. I don`t know if someone has replaced the original engine outlet that has the orifice in it or not? He does have a thermostat to add to the system... someday..

All you really have to do is remember the water is very hot and to turn the cold on first, then add hot as you need it. Kinda like pouring acid into water, not the reverse. This is the only solution when it is electric or gas powered as well. I have a 6 gallon Atwood under the sofa now. 3 way. Sure like it but you have to remember the above rule or you will burn yourself.
