Wed. Started out from Little Rock,in a hurry! gas was running out the vapor canister due to overfilling the gas tanks. Jim K later assured me that happens sometimes when it is very hot.
Ran great about 200 miles in the hills heading north on 63. It started down shifting and losing speed, pulled over added some fluid, no phone service so limped up the road til connected. Called Jim K and he talked us through R&R ing the governor after a cool down. On close inspection it looked fine. Wally A. called to say he had one if we needed it. Thanks. Started out and it shifted normally.
Brakes pulling hard to the right out of fluid in the front reservoir.
Thurs. On one hard stop we slid the wheel. After that the tire started thumping, a call to Jim B assured me that Bill was right a flat spot on the tire, guess I'll have to get used to the thump.
What would I do without a cell phone and connections? Traveled all day, 1 1/2 hr lunch stop/cool down then back on the road. No issues.
Fri. Quite low on gas, filled up and it sputtered for about 12 miles, water?, then ran great the rest of the trip to Marshalltown, Iowa. We'll spend a week with family and get the calipers looked at then we plan to drift through WI to northern MI for a few weeks of cooler weather.
The Onan ran fulltime and never complained.
I think we'll keep it.
