Say, how do you like that port? I was thinking of using the same thing. In my version I was going to put the level sensors in it, hopefully easier to clean them when you open it up.

Larry,

I installed it strictly for cleaning.

I located it in the middle of the tank fore/aft - port / starboard ;-) and I
can reach anywhere in the tank. I do have long arms as I wear 36" sleeve
length shirts.

It was not my idea, I read here someone else had done it.

Ron,
What you want is called a marine item called an inspection deck
plate. It is available from West Marine and the one used most often
is the 6" size. Here is the link to the page at WM. You might be
able to find it at a local marine suppler. It would be quicker and
less expensive to just order it from West Marine than spend the time
and money locally.

I have thought that a great reason to put one in. Even the big factories have access to the tanks, but our rvs dont.

My OEM tank looks like a puzzel with all the cracks in it. I don't use it and will be replacing it. I want to put a port in also. i think the marine ports are made for similar environments so that will probably be my choice.
