I did not secure the dump line and broke it off coming home from TN last week. I cannot run it out the back under the rear cross member. They add to the member to connect the tow hook-up. I broke off two getting into my driveway. The last one I had ran out under the propane tank and healed it up with a bungy cord. I also need to replace the closeout for the dump tank. The old one does not shut off. I was wanting to come out aft of the generator if that is possible.

Art, I ripped out the hitch that was welded under there, by PO, and put in one of Blaine Merrell's thru the bumper hitches. Then, I was able to run my dump line the way I wanted so it will not get dragged off.

I also have a welded on hitch and can not run my line out the back. Recently redid all of mine from the holding tank on back. Ran mine through the frame on the drivers side. I'll post some pics on the photo site so you can get a better idea of what I did.

Install a macerator with a short, 3 inch, well tucked up, emergency dump. (It doesn't matter if you have to crawl under the coach to hook it up. You only use it if the macerator has a problem.)

The macerator pumps out a 1 inch hose... Much easier to use and doesn't drag the ground.

Paul,
What is the fitting direct to the original outlet of your black tank. Where did you source, any part number?

I picket it up at an RV surplus place here in Ohio. It was the only one they had on their wall of fittings and adapters. I don't recall it having any type of name brand or part# on it. Had to trim 1/4" off of the bolt posts to keep it from bottoming out when tightened down. Made up a gasket to use with it out of some other stuff they had there as well as sealing it with Hylomar. I'm pretty sure I'm using it for other than its intended purpose. The stock dump valve would have fit right in( as it does on the holding tank adapter )and bolted up perfect, but so far it seems to be working well.
I'll crawl under and take a look when I get a chance and see if I can get more info on it.

No need to crawl under and check.
I believe I have now located similar fittings at Vintage Trailer Supplies. They show them as new items and offer both threaded and glue versions.
They would probably require the same alterations. I am considering installing an electric dump valve and was trying to determine the best method.

Thanks very much!

Went to the site and looked. The "Thetford Thread-On Valve Mounting Flange" looks just like the one I used. Jut drilled out the post holes for thru-bolts, trimmed them back and used it backwards with a gasket ( the surplus place had on that fit almost perfect )in between it and the original flange on the tank.

Good luck and don't forget the nose plug!

I had a similar problem with the soil pipes. I have Merrills hitch so I could tie it up back near the rear bumper.

These guys have all praised the virtues of the macerator and I have just finished installing it.

I tried to be proactive and make any dissassembly and connection of the hoses easy so I bought some quick connect adapters as listed below. Connecting the hose is a snap as is adding any extra length. I added a Quick connect at the mascerator discharge as well. I don't want to be under the GMC for any amount of time, even though she is blocked up. ( ALWAYS BLOCK HER UP IF DOING ANYTHING UNDER HER )

I did wire so I could reverse the macerator momentarily in case there is a plug at the cutting vanes. Just me but it could work.

If anyone is interested inthe quick connect adapters, here is a sample,.,.,.,.,.

UNFORTUNATELY the web does not give a page of the entire inventory so you really need the catalog to see what they have as a group.
These come in 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/2, and 2 inch flavours.

If you want to see any of the other sizes let me know and I will send you the catalog numbers.

Just food for thought.
