It has been awhile since part 2 as I was off on other things. As of now, the "J" heads have been installed and torqued, using gaskets from JimK. The aluminum manifold has been installed, also using JimK supplied gaskets. Next will be the items connected to the heads or block(pwr. steering, alternator, A/C brackets, exhaust manifolds)-using the new upgraded gaskets from JimK. Also, installing Dick Paterson's coil, plug wires, and electronic ignition parts, supplied through JimK. I expect marked improvement in performance and fuel "economy", if we can use that word.
I have a limited project GMC for sale at only $2500. It is a 1976 Edgemonte model, rear twin beds, dry shower, Electro Level I air suspension, 67.5k original miles. It has been parked for some years so needs going through-all systems. Will need some internal vertical panels due to prior leaks, tires and more. I think it can be road worthy for about $5000, not including a paint job. So for about $7,500 you could own a nice coach.
I still have a parts GMC for $500, new "Fishing Cabinets", new internal fiberglass panels next to the driver and passenger seats. By the DuQuion convention at the end of September, I hope to have reproduction external louvered refer doors and a console with cup holders and internal storage that fits on top of the engine cover........Thx, Michael GEMRECS
