Hi there fellow gmcers
Took coach over the week end for shake down prior to run to Alaska and back. All went well except a few minor problems that will be fixed next week.
I have a question does any one have a good plan for the shower in my wet bath room and what kind of rods and curtains are the best. I have a 1976 Palm beach with the wet bath module.
thanks all
Marcel in El Paso

I do not use a curtain. I lay a towel down in the aisle and shower with the door open. Way more room to move around without being boxed in. I'm a big guy though, so maybe some skinny types care to chime in.

Dan
Thanks for input. We plan on staying in rv parks every several days but
figured out we might need the shower.
I know the water is a bit of a problem but figured for the odd shower it
should work out. I saw the small tracks but I seem to be missing the small
rollers. Will try the shower curtains and cut them down. Thanks

Marcel,
We use a shower curtain on both sides of the shower, Keeps water out
of the TP cabinet, keeps it out of the hallway. My wife found shower
curtains with small, maybe 1/2" dia suction cups along the leading
edges and those keep the curtains from moving while showering. It was
a direct replacement for the OEM one and fit nicely. The suction cups
also keep it retracted and out of the way when using the rest of the
facilities. Wipe down is quick, and we've never had a problem with
mildew as the curtain dries rapidly after wiping down and utilizing
the FF vent to blow in or out. Both directions of air flow seem to
work as well.

Wally,
That's a great idea! That is my only complaint about the wet bath, too tight. Your little mod would help with that a lot!

Yes, use PEX!
It's easy to install, and maintain.

You can use the PEX clamps if you have the clamp scruncher, or you can
use the more expensive, but more convenient, compression fittings or the
slip on fittings, like the "shark bite " fittings.
Or, in many cases, you can use the older Qest compression fittings.
Beware, the Qest fittings deteriorate after long exposure to chlorinated
water.

I have a 1976 PB also, here is what I did:
-Cheap new curtains (thin & flexible) cut to size.
-Apply adhesive backed Velcro to curtain ends and several areas holding it against bath wall ( no folds in curtain, increases size back to bath walls).
- New bath sink faucet, single lever shower control & shower head. The "navy" shower head has a "demand" button so that shower water only flows when needed and reduces water use to a minimum without disturbing temperature settings.
Has worked really well for us.

Marcel,
My wife found shower curtains that have several small, suction cups
on the leading edges to hold the curtains against the wall when
showering, and also when it is retracted. Helps keep it out of the
way when not in use.

""We got rid of the shower curtains back in the 80's. We use the shower a lot but just aim the spray away from the mirror area and don't have any water leaking through the door. It just runs down the walls and the door into the pan.
It makes it dry up a lot faster this way. If we leave the fan (the original one) on it will pull air up through the bottom of the door and the bath will be completely dry within about an hour.

Same here--it sure makes life simpler than having to fool with the curtain all the time. I took mine off after the first trip with no leakage problems.
