The link at the |GMC info site for this seems to be down, so can anyone tell me the length and the size (appears to be 2 different sizes) needed to replace the hoses to the hot water heater.

thanks

Wow, Did that a couple years ago. you need two sizes of hose if I recall correctly.... I think it was 20' 5/8" and 20' 3/4".
While you are doing this, install valves under the motor hood(floor) in easy reach on the supply and return so you can shut it down if you ever have a hose failure or the water heater fails.

Just a side thought, if you need extra heat in the coach for Winter driving, I put a heater ( basically a heater core and a fan ) in the back and plumbed it in to the hot water from the engine at the Hot Water Heater. Just a thought or a future project.

My heater is in the rear compartment where the water pump is and it is ducted to blow in the hallway toward the front of the coach.

This seems to be the best way to mix the warm air with the cold coach air.

Wait for the link to come back up or try to measure the length on the outside and at some extra.

One location that will be a problem is where it comes up into the coach under the door by the wheel well. It looked simple but the PO had foamed the hoses in, I had to re-route around the wheel well instead of over the top.

Happy Trails

LarC ( Glad to have the isolation valves and Really enjoy that Aux heater )

Mine has two different hoses, one is labled 5/8" but the other is slightly bigger with no markings. It doesn't looked like the ID is different when I eyeball a "T" though, hard to tell though since I can't see much.

Did some have 2 different sizes while others had one?

I have the hot water heater/sink area apart and the hoses on my 73 Glacier
are both 5/8" as marked on the hoses.

Ok, I have it figured out. Mine has a 3/4" line from a T at the water pump. It runs back to just before the back wheels, but there is a reducer to 5/8" under the Ragusa step, just before it goes up through the floor.

So I'm going to move the reducer upto the engine compartment and run 5/8 both ways to the water heater.

If you have a roll of 5/8" soft copper laying around you could use it for the run and short pieces of 5/8" hoses on the ends.

If you have a roll of 5/8" soft copper laying around you will find that it has grown in value about 100 times more than if you had the money laying around in a savings account!
