I just received my 6 month premium from State Farm for my motorhome ($325/6 months), and was doing some comparison shopping. The collector car insurer, Leland-West, also will insure vintage motorhomes (I found out aabout a month ago), and their rates are much more competitive for a limited use, agreed value policy (I specified 3000 miles/year).
Has anyone used these policies and had any experiences? Since my motorhome is sitting in the driveway much more than it is on the road these days, I thought this may be a reasonable way to insure my motorhome. I'm also not sure if the State Farm policy is Stated value or Agreed Value (but I will certainly find out before renewing my policy).

I called them this week - reasonable rates on "fixed value" policies ...

George,
On my policy (J.C.Taylor) and I would think all collector car insurers, they
do ask for estimated annual mileage. I believe on top of that you can
contact your agent or insurance company directly and advise them that you
are attending a meet/rally/convention in addition to the 3,000 stated use
miles. And then there are the required trips for specialized maintenance
and repair - to Jim. K., Jim B., K. Frey and points in between.
Could be a great deal. Especially considering the praked time vs. in
service time.

I think I would want Agreed value, not Stated value

Actually, I don't really care because the value is so low. But I would like to get collector insurance since it is a prerequisite for an emissions exemption in AZ.
