As Summer roars on, I have these two wonderful shade trees. These wonderful shade trees usually drop tree sap in the Spring and the Fall, HOWEVER, this YEar, these two WONDERFUL SHADE TREES have been dropping sap continuously. The neighbors tree is doing the same thing.... You should see my cars as well as the GMC MH.

Now I know where those black streaks came from when it rained, nasty sap.

Now one guy where I worked used to be a finatical about his cars, and really, he had a 68 buick that looked like it came out of the show room. One day I saw him wiping it down and I asked how he kept it looking so good. He pointed to a can of PLEDGE furniture polish with lemon....lolol he sprayed it on, and wiped it in the finish, piece of cake....

Back to the GMC, thats the kind of wax I am thinking of since the GMC is almost as big as an elephant......

So do you guys think lemon PLEDGE would work well for our GMC's or do you have a different solution??

thanks

Way back when I was a volunteer fireman as a teenager, we used pledge on
the red firetrucks. They were Imron painted too. Worked great!

Years ago Pledge was the polish of choice when you took your car to a show.
Apply it after you get to the show. Looks great - but does not hold up to
the exterior elements. If you have a good coat of wax on the vehicle then
Pledge works wonders.

The latest I have see at the car shows this summer is a product called ICE,
apply it like you would Pledge. The main thing is to get a good coat of wax
on before all the junk gets on it.
Once that base coat is on it's easier to maintain. Some car nuts wash
their cash with automatic dishwasher soap - the ones that bead off - reduces
spotting and streaking.

I'm one of those car nuts, and I never have cash long enough to need
washing, and seldom have enough to make a full load in the dishwasher. Har

But LarC has a '74. That is not Imron paint. 73 & 74 are pre imron. Somewhere in all the GMC info on the net is a paint chart, I just can't find it now.

Larry,
It's the oil in the can that deepens the shine. Works teriffic on
plexiglass for hiding scratches caused by wiping dirt off. WD 40 does
the same.
Get a car port.

Steve & George,

Beginning with serial number TZE165V100089 ( In 1975) the coaches were
painted with IMRON paint. Before that they were paint with an acrylic
enamel automotive paint.
