*I had similar problems with my macerator - thought it was overheating
and stopping and I was sure ticked off - turned out it was wire
connections - the ground wire right at the pump had become loose. I
repaired that and took care of the problem for a couple of years - then
the problem showed up again. This time it turned out to be right in the
on/off switch - it was not functioning properly and I cleaned it up and
all is A-OK now. Bruce Hood proud owner of '75 Glenbrook (just turned

You cooled it down with water?

Did you spray it? (seems un-likely)

Is yours protected with a circuit breaker?
What amp rating?

Richard,
It is protected with a 20 amp fuse. Yes I spray it with water.
Other than the two drain holes in the bottom of the motor area
it is a sealed unit. It is exposed to the elements while driving
down the road. I have not had a problem when spraying with
water.

Wow, maybe there is something to this global warming thing--radiators, carburetors, fuel tanks, fuel lines, cross overs, and now shit!!
