I don't think any of the recent Macerator posts covered this.
I am seldom able to completely empty my holding tank in one operation.
My macerator shuts down like it has an over load or has gotten too hot.
Cooling it down with the water hose sometimes it comes back on other
times it doesn't. It does seem to be a little worse when I have been
driving on a hot road just prior to trying to dump. Have others had this
problem or do I just have a finicky macerator? Do they have a built in
overload?

Some macerators have a heat sensor in the motor that will cut the power when they overheat.

I would suggest that yI suspect that this will prevent the motor from getting as hot.

Remember that the macerator likes a big wire coming in and a big hose going
out. Restricting either one will cause the motor to run hot.

Charles;
Same thing with ours.
I turn off the power for a short time.
Ours has a built in over load.
Still better then dumping using the big hose and faster too.
