Well, after George Beckman, drove his beautiful GMC into the lot and we all
met his lovely wife Ruth ( she went off to the docks for a walking tour
with JR's daughter) and we shot the shit with John, we were off to install
the EBL on JR's GMC, JR already had the Howell running. ( Everyone should
have a GeorgeB to help them install their EBL-s).

Jr's laptop, loaded the EBL software, found the USB SERIAL port and we were
ready to go. OOPs, had to down load the flash-update, or Heads up monitor
(forgot which) using JR's wifi link to his house data-access point . The
laptop battery was bad, but no problem used JR's 110 inverter to power the
laptop to do the wifi down-load (phew). Connected the laptop, through the
usb-serial port to the EBL, plugged in the ECM, did the update, and it all
ran the first time (every one should have a GeorgeB to get them started)

But wait, after consulting by cell phone, with Randy, (in Texas) it was
determined we need a bin from randy and he could send it to GeorgeB on
email. So George got his laptop(apple) , in Jr's coach, connected to
George's coach through his Verizon, wifi , data connection which also drives
his iPAD up-front display for his EBL. (is this impressive or what?????)
George sent it to JR's laptop via email, through JR's wifi from the house,
and we were ready for George to patch the EBL because JR does not have a
ESC, or electronic dist. (I am barely able to keep up here). Error light
came on the efi computer( while running the engine and watching the
heads-up display) , George plugged in his OBDII connector and read the
lights to see the error code 23, which he went back and patched the EBL bin
with the update software (OMG) to ignore the input manifold temp sensor (we
don't have).

Now it all works, and I got a call from my wife wondering if I was ever
going to come home, and George and Jr, were in an intensive training session
on the EBL system ( did I say everyone needs a GeorgeB to help them install
their EBL, system), so I had to leave them doing the good stuff and I went
home.

Got a call at 9PM from a gal in So-Cal (how did she get my name?) that wants
me to break into her house, here in GreenTrees Village, copy off her
Quickbooks records, and email the file to her so she can do her taxes. ( I
said tomorrow)

Phew - what a day, it is tough being an old retired puke, just trying to
keep up.

are we going to talk about power springs (we no longer have) or the leaking
plugs in the bottom of the Quadrajets, we can no longer get to send to
Patterson for a $400 rebuild?
or
the float bowls that are boiling over, or the isolation gaskets we need to
add, or the input filters we need to remove, or the carb ovens that are
leaking.

we won't talk about SOB injector systems ;>)

(I hate carbs;>)

Dang Gene, why didn't yall wait til next week? I am pulling out of here tomorrow headed to Oregon. Watch us on the tracker, wd0afq-1. Got to have the dash one or you will be looking at my bug sitting in the driveway.
Sure wish I had George here when I upgrade my fuel injection. Maybe I can run over to Randy's in Springfield.

Anytime. Barn is open. Max is coming over Thursday and we are going to do a little alignment work on his coach. Wish I had been in OR with the gang doing JR's upgrade. We are going to be in CA in August - Margie's family reunion. Fast trip so not taking the coach this time.

not sure if you were talking to me??

but

I am trying to get to LV, wife does not want to go, Manny wants me to
drive, I want to take 23 on a shake down trip (not done tho)---

thinking , thinking

I like the EBL stuff, but not sure it is good to work the whole GMCMI around
it. I think less than 1 % (80 coaches) will ever go to it. I am sure the
Dick Patterson, JimB, SteveF, route (carburetors ;>) will be the route for
the majority.

the talks I would like to give/see at the GMCWS are:

"Fixing the Skin you are in"
which is about how to repair all of the materials that are on the GMC. I
have a web page on this, (not on line yet) but the masters of this are
Emery, and Faye.

"How to find those battery leaks"
ways to trouble search the little current leaks that cause most to
disconnect their batteries while in storage.

The things that are in everyone's future are your bushings, bearings, brakes
, coach mods, etc

Thanks for all of your work
gene
