I have a rebuilt compressor. It runs and pumps beautifully. Shortly after I got it, it would occasionally switch off before pressure was reached if the engine was running. It seemed to me that the extra voltage was tripping a thermal switch somewhere in the motor. The situation has worsened so that often it only runs for four or five seconds before it cycles off. An audible pop of a switch can be heard. After a bit of time it tries again only to stop. When running it sounds great, has great speed and pumps well. It just won't keep running.
