Hey All;

So I've always liked the look of the original clay model of the GMC
motorhome where it had no T-skirts, but flares. Since I lost a T-skirt
during the blowout of the Michelin tire during my last trip, I'm
thinking about removing the remaining T-skirt and putting rear flares
on the Stretch. I'm going to paint everything black in the rear
wheelwell and add flares. Anybody know where these are available?

Consider getting the style with the T-skirts included -- the fixed kind, not
the removable ones. If you buy them, maybe Frank will quit complaining
about me talking him into making a mold for them 10 years ago 'cause I
wanted them fixed (not many others have, according to him). :-)

Gary,

Have you seen the flares Darren had on his coach?

Gary, I don't know if Bert and Fay make them or not, you might call. I have seen Frank's and they look really good. I too have considered them. I want the quadrabag to show but with my "inserts" they don't.

Is Darren on the list, or anybody else that knows how he did this? I like the looks too.

I, am one who really likes the clay model flares.
I am also one who had to admit, you cannot get those flares as they are part of the body, not just an add on flare.

The flares that are out there flare out at the end, not the gentle bulge the clay model had.

I saw these and wondered if these could be or the look simulated to work on the GMC, ( we GMCers are really wishful people aren't we?? )

I saw a flare on a GMC that was very slight in the flair, about 3" wide from edge to tip of the flare. very sleek and very nice looking. I think if these could be modified to fit the GMC MH, they would be the closest look to the clay flare, though not near the look of the clay model, that could be had today.

Yeah, that did it.............

Those are like the flares, but these are much thicker from the body outwards. The ones I saw are as high ( from the wheel well opening to the top of the flare ) but were a modest thickness at the bottom. they look really good and I think a similar design would be the best option to try to mimic the clay model flares....
