I can't believe he's not letting a real auction house handle this sale. And that he has only 1.2MM as the minimum.

I can't explain why I find that thing soooo appealing. One of these
days I'm going to get close to one of those. I love 'em.

Steve,

The one Don Mayton restored for NATMUS is WAY better than the one on eBay.
It was restored to original specs.

Here's a link to the shows this year.

I saw that Rob, and I watched the restoration when photos were posted.
Just dreaming as it's just a tad bit more than I can afford.

Don Maytons restore is as original as it can be. That one is worth millions.

This guy tore it down to the floor and built it back up. Most of the things were donated and if I recall, he did not stick to orginal drawings or equipment.
He has tried to sell a couple of times but he has chaged the use of this vehicle to the point that its value is less than a GMC MotorHome.

The side panels used to open for the Parade of Progress displays. He has walls with windows now.

I don't beleive he has the orginal engine, upgraded to a modern power plant.

It looks like a futurliner but it really isn't anymore.

Futurliner #10 was at Carlisle last fall. It was under restoration for
seven years by a group of 30 volunteers..It is restored as original. Side
panels lift out and up, large florescent lights that raised out of the roof
line.

All the info you want is at:

www.futurliner.com

I'm sure the GMCs are a direct descendant. One of the comments made by the
host at the display said the brakes were so bad they spread them out while
parading around. Too many accidents if they followed too close. Another
interesting thing - only a pilot seat up top - everyone else traveled
below. The driver also sat at somewhere near 11 feet - looked like you were
going to hit every overhead light and wire. Must have felt a bit tippy too.

Take a trip to the above website.

It should also be noted the head of that team was GMC owner and retired
GM plant manager, Don Mayton.
