The question has been asked as to what the tech sessions will actually be. It is still a little early for the club to post them as, at this point in time, there is always some changes. I used to post this a couple of weeks or so before the Convention when I was managing it.

This convention will be the "training" session for Kim Weeks. Ray Swartzendruber is still the Convention Manager for this upcoming convention. Kim will then be totally responsible for the Spring Convention in Patterson, LA. As such they are presentlydividing some of the duties for duQuoin. It is my understanding that Kim is doing the printing and posting of the schedule but that Ray is lining up the tech sessions. I am sure that when Ray has finalized the sessions he will let Kim and the net know what they are. At that point the topics will be included in the schedule that is on the GMCMI.com site.

Having done that same task for GMCWS for three years now all I can say
to that is AMEN! Last minute cancellations wreak havoc with
schedules and getting presenters to make a hard comittment more than
two weeks prior can be a real tasking.

I want to correct myself on this post. Ray and Kim have equal billing on this convention. They are co-convention managers and have just split up various duties.

Kim is actually pulling together the schedule and I am doing all the
paperwork and registrations and financials, much like Emery and I did when
he transferred the baton to me. The tech sessions are all pulled together
and will be posted on the GMCMI website soon, but as Emery and Steve have
noted, there are bound to be changes. We will spend a whole day plus part
of the next on fuel injection this time starting on the very basics by Walt
Haller, then on to the system most of us with fuel injection have similar to
Holley's by Bob Drewes. Next, George Beckman and Randy Van Winkle will cover
a subject new to most of us, the new EBL system, followed by a panel with
questions and answers.

Eastern States is having one of their annual rallies in conjunction with
GMCMI similar to the way Western States did at Santa Rosa and Pueblo. They
will be presenting several tech seminars on Saturday the 25th open to anyone
who is there. They have also added several other things to the schedule for
all to enjoy (Saturday breakfast, Chili cookoff). The Midwest Classics are
also holding one of their annual meetings at this convention, but have no
other special activities planned other than probably a carry in.

Carol did the lady's page, and I did the registration form, but neither are
recognizable after Kim spiffed them up. She really did a nice job adding
formatting and graphics, and a little pizzazz. The registration form is on
the website, and does have an outline of seminars, but no titles are shown
there. Go take a look...it's like no other registration form you have seen
come from this organization!!

DuQuoin is a farming community in the heart of the Midwest, and is a very
nice, small, rural southern Illinois town. But not small enough to escape
the mandatory Wal-Mart Supercenter. The fairgrounds are very spacious, rich
in history, and well kept, with lots of landscaping and paved roads. Kim
has pulled together an interesting schedule, so it's going to be a good
time, and we hope ya'll can come.

The Kim, Keith, Carol, and I stayed at the Super 8 when we went to DuQuoin
in June. The manager said he would give us a reduced rate, but it was very
close to the price you can get through Travelocity or one of the internet
hotel services. Nonetheless, it was a good price, and can be obtained by
calling them at the number provided below, and asking for the special rate
for the GMC Motorhomes International Convention to be held at the
fairgrounds in September. The motel was nothing fancy, but the rooms were
large with a small refrigerator, clean, and recently renovated with new
carpeting, etc. Both are very close to the fairgrounds.

The Kim, Keith, Carol, and I stayed at the Super 8 when we went to DuQuoin
n June. The manager said he would give us a reduced rate, but it was very
lose to the price you can get through Travelocity or one of the internet
otel services. Nonetheless, it was a good price, and can be obtained by
alling them at the number provided below, and asking for the special rate
or the GMC Motorhomes International Convention to be held at the
airgrounds in September. The motel was nothing fancy, but the rooms were
arge with a small refrigerator, clean, and recently renovated with new
arpeting, etc. Both are very close to the fairgrounds.

Is there a suggested convention hotel/motel for those who may not be able to
ring a coach?

im is actually pulling together the schedule and I am doing all the
perwork and registrations and financials, much like Emery and I did when
transferred the baton to me. The tech sessions are all pulled together
d will be posted on the GMCMI website soon, but as Emery and Steve have
ted, there are bound to be changes. We will spend a whole day plus part
the next on fuel injection this time starting on the very basics by Walt
ller, then on to the system most of us with fuel injection have similar to
lley's by Bob Drewes. Next, George Beckman and Randy Van Winkle will cover
subject new to most of us, the new EBL system, followed by a panel with
estions and answers.
astern States is having one of their annual rallies in conjunction with
CMI similar to the way Western States did at Santa Rosa and Pueblo. They
ll be presenting several tech seminars on Saturday the 25th open to anyone
o is there. They have also added several other things to the schedule for
l to enjoy (Saturday breakfast, Chili cookoff). The Midwest Classics are
so holding one of their annual meetings at this convention, but have no
her special activities planned other than probably a carry in.
arol did the lady's page, and I did the registration form, but neither are
cognizable after Kim spiffed them up. She really did a nice job adding
rmatting and graphics, and a little pizzazz. The registration form is on
e website, and does have an outline of seminars, but no titles are shown
ere. Go take a look...it's like no other registration form you have seen
me from this organization!!
uQuoin is a farming community in the heart of the Midwest, and is a very
ce, small, rural southern Illinois town. But not small enough to escape
e mandatory Wal-Mart Supercenter. The fairgrounds are very spacious, rich
history, and well kept, with lots of landscaping and paved roads. Kim
s pulled together an interesting schedule, so it's going to be a good
me, and we hope ya'll can come.

want to correct myself on this post. Ray and Kim have equal billing on
is convention. They are co-convention managers and have just split up
rious duties.

The question has been asked as to what the tech sessions will actually be.
is still a little early for the club to post them as, at this point in
me, there is always some changes. I used to post this a couple of weeks
so before the Convention when I was managing it.

This convention will be the "training" session for Kim Weeks. Ray
artzendruber is still the Convention Manager for this upcoming convention.
m will then be totally responsible for the Spring Convention in Patterson,
. As such they are presentlydividing some of the duties for duQuoin. It
my understanding that Kim is doing the printing and posting of the
hedule but that Ray is lining up the tech sessions. I am sure that when
y has finalized the sessions he will let Kim and the net know what they
e. At that point the topics will be included in the schedule that is on
e GMCMI.com site.
